Giving Back to those in need
Another building block in the foundations of Nevis Adventures is that we love to give back
Director James Brown’s background is as a social worker and he is currently also the director of a care service which helps individuals with learning disabilities in Yorkshire to fulfil their true potential and live a full life within their community.
To further support James’s passion, we donate 1% of all Nevis Adventures booking fees to Leeds Mencap.
Leeds Mencap was created sixty five years ago, by and for, the people of Leeds with learning disabilities. Although they are affiliated to the national Mencap charity, Leeds Mencap is an independent charity which has to secure its own funding. The funding supports over 450 families and individuals each year, improving the life experience of the person with a learning disability and providing support, advice and practical long-term help to the whole family.
James has also spent 20 years organising youth exchange trips between the UK and Jamaica and Nevis.
“If you can help someone, help them”.
James also works closely with the community on Nevis, his place of birth, to bring this beautiful island to the world. At Nevis Adventures we aim to promote this unique destination, its people, businesses, and economy to the world whilst helping to keep this idyll unspoilt and authentic.
